Alright, last day I'll be spamming you guys with sales for a while. Real entries this weekend, I've just been in mega fundraising mode lately.

First off - http://threadless.com/?from=Cosfu < Threadless t-shirts for $9 today!
Second - http://www.whatsyourobsession.com/black-friday-deals-morning-edition/ < A bunch more Black Friday deals! Including a really hot one on a PS3, 120gb Slim + Infamous + Killzone 2 + $10 GC for $299.

I've spent a good few hours compiling some of the upcoming deals this Black Friday (a fair amount are live actually) from Amazon/Newegg, because those two retailers are beating the hell out of traditional B&M retailers this Black Friday. Amazon is going so far as to match every single price at every other retailer (so far). If you were planning to wait in line, skip it and save yourself the time.

http://www.whatsyourobsession.com/ridiculous-amount-of-black-friday-sales-2-gaming-only/ < That has a listing of all the upcoming Newegg deals and teasers for the Amazon deals. Amazon is going to have an absolute ton of them, I'll keep updating over the next few days.

http://www.whatsyourobsession.com/ridiculous-amount-of-black-friday-sales/ < Initial listing of the Amazon/Newegg pre-Black Friday deals. Lots of computer hardware.

http://www.whatsyourobsession.com/black-friday-sale-updates-already/ < Update with Amazon matching most of the Newegg prices and in some cases beating them already.

EDIT : Thursday morning deals update : http://www.whatsyourobsession.com/deal-updates-for-the-morning/ (new videogames and other gaming deals, laptop deal, iPod deal, bunch of new blu-rays including the harry potter series at $10, and more!)

Every purchase helps me out, for those of you in the know, you know that it's going to a great cause and I really appreciate it. If you need buying advice because you're unsure of what computer parts are good or what camera is decent or whatever, you can message me on AIM and I'll be more than happy to help with some advice. If you're planning on making a big purchase like a TV from Amazon, contact me, I may be able to expedite your shipping for free.

I'd also really appreciate it if you gave out those links to friends/family/whatever that could benefit from them. Thanks e-pals!

Jessie and I went to the Soup Nazi's soup chain today. Had ourselves a fantastic seafood bisque. This came after about a week of watching Seinfeld episodes on random, I think we went through a good 50+.

I've decided something. On one of my next trips to New York, I'm going to hit up a ton of the Seinfeld locations that were based off of real places. Then I'll take the real Kramer tour if that still exists. Make it a whole Seinfeld themed trip. I dunno about you guys, but Seinfeld was a huge part of my youth, gotta give it some photographic props.

Jessie was telling me a lot of her pals can't watch the show because they think the characters were assholes. Yeah, they were, but they were funny assholes. That's really the key difference in asshole behaviour. Funny assholes versus just plain mean assholes. Gotta be careful of that line! The strange thing is that everyone up north that I personally know of loved the show. Whether they fit in the asshole category or serious religious types. Canada just loves the Seinfeld.

Maybe I'll make some custom Seinfeld muggs. Throw in a Larry David for good measure.

Better wrap this up before my battery runs out. Megabus is screwing me again with no power outlets.

So who's got a little over a grand they can float on their credit card for a month-ish and wants to make a few hundred bucks?

Canon T1i with kit lens
Canon EF-S 55-250 lens
Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II (I have this printer, it's fantastic, really huge though)

Add all of those to your cart, the total price (after Canon's rebate) should be $1256, with a $400 mail-in rebate, bringing it down to $856 once you get your money back. The T1i with kit lens sells for $760-$800 on Ebay on it's own, the EF-S 55-250 is around $160-$200, the Pixma Pro is around $250-$325. I've dealt with Canon's rebates a number of times, they're very reliable. So yeah, either a great deal for you, or you can easily make some profit.

Boom, done, I'm sure I just paid for Christmas presents for a few of you. Enjoy.

Started up another twitter, this time it's exclusively for deals I'll be posting at Whatsyourobsession. Obviously most people don't care about goofy ass toys and statues, which is totally understandable since I'm mentally a child, but you can at least save some dough.

What's Your Obsession - Deals Twitter

Mostly online stuff, some local/offline stuff from time to time. Kind of like that one dumb LJ I had back in the day, except I'll actually keep this one updated for more than a week, I swear.

This is a completely worthless post unless you're into gaming and DEALS

Spend $80 on Amazon games stuff, get a $40 GC towards future gaming purchases

ENJOY. I'll be posting from my phone whenever I'm in the US (unlimited texts and all that). Much much less so when I'm in Canada.
24th-Oct-2009 01:52 pm - Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3d
doc
For those not aware, Toy Story 1 and 2 were just in theatres for a limited engagement. Both were re-done in 3d, and I had the pleasure to see them last weekend.

I’ve seen two other movies in 3d, Superman at IMAX and Nightmare Before Christmas. Superman was a bit iffy, at times it seemed the framerate wasn’t quite right. Nightmare Before Christmas was a much better experience, but neither of them were nearly as good as Toy Story 1 and 2. Especially 2.

It’s an interesting technology, although one that has flaws. My pal that I was with, it initially gave him a small headache but it went away. For me, my eyes aren’t 20/20, so the 3d effect isn’t perfect in some shots. That said, it gives a fantastic effect and had incredible depth on certain scenes. The sequence near the end of 2, with the luggage and the plane wheel? Blew me away. There were scenes shot through Buzz’s helmet that looked utterly gorgeous. It’s just amazing to me that these two films, shot a fair while ago, not only look great on the screen, but look like they were made for 3d. I can only imagine how seeing Up, a modern Pixar film developed with 3d, must have been!

The technology has such potential, although I imagine it’ll be a bit distracting until people are used to it. I’d be pretty shocked if that wasn’t used on most action/adventure movies within the next few years.

I was also happy to see that two of my favourite films hold up so well. There’s a great sense of enjoyment in toys, a sense of wonder in this small world, and great adventures with plenty of comedy. When a film comes together as well as these, you can tell the people involved really cared about the project they were working on.

All in all, if you didn’t get to see Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3d, you missed out. If you haven’t seen any films yet in 3d, I’d suggest making some time to see one in the next few months. As far as gimmicks go, it gets a thumbs up from me.
